The Ferret And Dove Sanctuary, Inc.

 The Ferret & Dove Sanctuary run by Susie & Wes Hurley -- a husband and wife team -- house ferrets, doves, rabbits, guinea pigs, & chinchillas.
Working closely with local law enforcement, they take in many exotic animals that would otherwise be destroyed by animal control. Being in Florida, they also take on the unique responsibility of sheltering animals displaced by hurricanes (Ivan & Katrina). Over the years they have adopted out 134 ferrets!
Susie is a disabled, retired nurse. They are on a fixed income with ever-growing vet bills, on which they can only afford to pay $100 per month. They budget everything very carefully, but are still having trouble making ends meet.
If you can find it in your heart to help them out, I know they would greatly appreciate it. And, for those of you who would like a tax write off, they send out a receipt for every donation along with a thank you card and hand crocheted gift that takes over a week to make!
